Meet the Owner - Laura Shipley
- I officially started Shipley Domestic Services in 2007. Since then, I
professional cleaning and home organization services. I pride
myself on the quality of my work and my willingness for flexibility. I
learned early on that each client is unique, has specific needs and
priorities, and these should be respected. My clients have been my
greatest teachers and I cherish my professional relationships with
them.
My professional background, prior to starting SDS, includes over 15
years medical office management, as well as several years working
in the food service industry as a server. These may seem like
unrelated industries, at first glance. However, I have long been
aware of a more heightened concept of "clean", given my
experience and training in preparing medical operatories using
sterile technique, and cleaning in a restaurant environment where
me very well in the residential cleaning business. I apply my knowledge of proper sanitary cleaning
techniques to my house cleaning service. For example: I use only high quality, non-toxic, eco-
friendly cleaning supplies, a color-coded rag system (to prevent cross contamination between
rooms or between homes) and hypo-allergenic vacuum bags.
client's needs and budget. I am a Maryland native, raised in Carroll County, and currently living in
Baltimore County. I don't mind traveling into nearby counties for regular clients, as I am frequently
traveling around central Maryland to visit family and friends as well.
